Commemorating Fred and Juelle Fisher’s wedding in 1975, the vineyard is not only an integral part of the winery, but also of our family’s life on the mountain.
First planted in 1973, Wedding Vineyard graces a south facing slope in front of our original Mountain Estate winery, running the length of our secluded estate. Nine acres were replanted in 2002 under the careful guidance of David Abreu: seven blocks of Cabernet Sauvignon (clone 337 and See clone, among others), one block of Petit Verdot (clone 400) and one block of Cabernet Franc (clone 327). The final remaining block was replanted in 2010 (Wiemer clone).

The 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon Wedding Vineyard is made from a very late-ripening site (the 2008 was picked in October) and includes some Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. It boasts considerable density and sheer muscle in its black fruit, tar, licorice and violets. Patience is going to be the key here. Anticipated maturity: 2015-2028.
