Commemorating Fred and Juelle Fisher’s wedding in 1975, the vineyard is not only an integral part of the winery, but also of our family’s life on the mountain.
First planted in 1973, Wedding Vineyard graces a south facing slope in front of our original Mountain Estate winery, running the length of our secluded estate. Nine acres were replanted in 2002 under the careful guidance of David Abreu: seven blocks of Cabernet Sauvignon (clone 337 and See clone, among others), one block of Petit Verdot (clone 400) and one block of Cabernet Franc (clone 327). The final remaining block was replanted in 2010 (Wiemer clone).

Blackberry bramble, black olive, caramel, lead pencil, tobacco leaf, clove, cassis…. just a few words to describe the immediate and stunning sensory experience. But the most satisfying moment for any student of this vineyard is to behold in this vintage the same attributes that have etched this site into our hearts. Tasting alongside 2001 is astounding: similar ripeness, intense dark brambly fruit, complimented by tobacco leaf, cedar, and extravagant caramel. Flavors of pure blackberry mingle with fine grain tannin buoyed by the sweet toast of well-integrated French Oak.
