The Hidden Terrace Vineyard is a well-kept secret sequestered on a steep south-facing slope at the edge of our Mountain Estate.
Scratched into a ravine and farmed entirely by hand due to the severe slopes, this small vineyard is composed of rare tuff (volcanic ash) soil that produces Syrah of intense concentration and varietal distinction. Extremely low yields limit production of this wine to just a handful of barrels each vintage.

The 2018 Syrah Hidden Terrace Vineyard is a very pretty wine. In 2018, the Fishers opted to use a fair amount of whole clusters (40%), which adds striking aromatic lift and real sense of grace, while bringing out redder tonalities of fruit and giving the wine lift. In 2018, the Syrah is not quite as savory as it can be, but it is attractive just the same.
