Planted in 1999, our Mountain Estate Vineyard, Chardonnay, is rooted in steep, rocky soils at 1,300 feet elevation, and planted with the 45 degree fall line on our only northeast-facing slope. Owing to this particular aspect, these vines receive cooler morning light and minimal exposure to any hot afternoon sun, which has proven ideal for the gradual ripening and maximum maturation of Chardonnay grapes.

Pale straw in color, the 2022 Mountain Estate Chardonnay is both fresh and pure. Intense aromas of star jasmine, lemon oil and wet stone leap from the glass. The palate expands on these aromas emphasizing flavors of lemon pot de crème accented by crisp green apple. Lively interactive play between citrus, ripe fig and quartz minerality. This wine continues to develop and change in the glass signifying its ability to age with grace and character.
