2018 was a vintage that distinguished itself with a long temperate growing season that allowed the fruit plenty of hang time to reach absolute perfection. Block 4 of our Wedding Vineyard is planted to the 337 clone cabernet situated on South Western exposure and grown in intense volcanic red aiken soils. The resulting fruit called for extended barrel aging to hone the expression of such wild intense mountain Cabernet Sauvignon. Effusive notes of blackberry, dark plum and cassis mingle with wet clay, cedar and petrichor minerality. Deep inky garnet color in the glass, on the palate flavors of ripe black currant/cherry, allspice and exquisite toasted oak with flavors of cacao and espresso bean lingering with full mountain tannin giving this wine remarkable length and persistence on the palate.
