Lamb Vineyard, Cabernet Sauvignon

Nestled at the foot of the Palisades in Northern Napa Valley, the Lamb Vineyard has been a source of great pride for our family over the past quarter of a century. Named for Juelle's family, the vineyard was planted to Cabernet in 1982 and consistently yields small quantities of fruit that produce wine with a rare combination of rich concentrated flavors, velvet texture and elegance (read more about the vineyard).

Tasting Notes

Plums, menthol, violets, smoke, tar, and melted asphalt all seem to jump from the glass. Vibrant and beautifully articulated, the 2010 is endowed with superb pedigree and class. Today the tannins are a bit firm, but that shouldn't be an issue in another few years. The 100% new oak barrels are totally integrated. Savory herbs and black olives are some of the notes that add complexity in this expressive, polished Cabernet Sauvignon.

  • 96% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Malbec
  • Harvested October 21st
  • De-stemmed and double sorted
  • Whole-berry fermented in small open-top fermenters
  • Selected yeast fermentation, with extended maceration
  • Native malolactic fermentation completed in barrel
  • Aged 19 months in French oak barrels (100% new)
